  • How accurately does the printed spare part fit?
    If you bring the original, we measure with calipers (down to 0.1 mm) or a 3D scanner (for complex geometry). Before delivery we check the fit against your original. If tolerances are off, we adjust the file and reprint for free — that's standard, not the exception.
  • Does printed plastic really hold up?
    With the right material and infill, often better than the original. PETG is more stable in everyday use than the brittle ABS of a 10-year-old appliance. For engine bay and workshop we use PC or nylon — handles temperatures over 100 °C and mechanical load. We'll honestly say when 3D printing isn't the best choice (e.g. safety-critical load-bearing parts).
  • What does a simple spare part cost?
    From €10 for small parts like clips, caps, knobs — often cheaper than shipping an original from Germany or Asia. Functional parts like gears or brackets €20–60, engine-bay parts in PC/PA €35–120. Reorders of the same file are always cheaper because measuring drops out.
  • Is the material safe for engine bay or heat?
    PLA softens around 55 °C, PETG around 70 °C — neither for the engine bay. For heat we use PC (polycarbonate, up to ~110 °C), PA (nylon, up to ~80 °C continuous) or ASA (up to ~90 °C, UV-stable for outdoors). We recommend the right material for your installation — tell us where the part sits.
  • Is printed plastic food-safe?
    Direct food contact (drinking bottle, spoon, cutting board) is tricky — the layer gaps trap bacteria. For indirect contact (water-tank bracket, external coffee-machine accessories) we use food-adjacent PLA or PETG. For real food contact we recommend coating with food-safe epoxy or alternative materials — we advise honestly.
  • What does reverse engineering without a CAD file cost?
    Small parts flat-rate from €40 including measurement and modeling in Fusion 360. Complex geometries (freeform, internal structures, gears with tooth profile) by effort — we send an honest estimate after a short brief. File stays with us for reorders; STEP/STL available separately on request.
  • Do you keep the file for reorders?
    By default the file stays with us for reorders — quick and without re-measuring. On request, the STL is available separately so you can reprint with another shop.
  • Is my spare-part job confidential?
    Standard. We don't show customer jobs in gallery or social media without release. For business customers with NDA needs (prototype reproduction, competitively sensitive parts) we sign the NDA before file handover — free of charge.
  • Do you also print classic-car and motorcycle parts with a historic look?
    Yes. Interior clips, trims, brackets, vent louvres — we print in a matte look, on request treated to look sandblasted or painted. For the engine bay we use PC or nylon in black. On safety-critical parts (brake, steering, suspension) we don't print — we refer those to specialized workshops.
