How it works — from briefing to delivery

    STL, STEP, 3MF or a link to MakerWorld, Cults3D, Printables, Thingiverse — we check printability and licensing.

  2. 2. Splitting & material choice

    We split large props into modules with snap connections for free and advise on material, wall thickness and infill for your wearing concept.

  3. 3. Print in Vienna

    Usually 1–4 working days depending on scope. For convention deadlines, please allow 1–2 weeks of buffer for painting and drying.

  4. 4. Fit-check & pickup

    On request, a fit-check on site in 1080 Vienna — straps, closures, freedom of movement. Then pickup or shipping.

  • No painting service — we print paint-ready; the finish is on you or a prop painter

  • My helmet or prop is larger than 33 cm — does that still work?
    Yes. We split the file for free into precisely fitting modules with snap connections (tabs + slots) that you glue and sand after printing. For very large armor sets (full-body, XL weapons) we plan 8–12 segments. On request we take over splitting completely — you get a print-ready STL series back.
  • Which material should I choose for cosplay?
    For most parts PLA is enough — light, easy to sand, cheap, 30+ colors. For grips, blades with metal cores and stressed areas we recommend PETG or PLA-CF (carbon). Flexible straps, pads and closures we print in TPU. We combine these on one armor — multi-material is standard for us.
  • How do I paint 3D-printed cosplay parts properly?
    Short version: sand (grit 240 → 400 → 800), spray filler-primer, sand again, prime, then paint (acrylic or spray can). For metallic look, print directly in silk-PLA or gold-PLA — saves steps. We deliver paint-ready prints and advise on prep, the painting itself is on you or a prop painter.
  • What about comfort? Doesn't plastic press?
    We think about the inside: TPU inner padding at pressure points, soft straps, velcro or magnet closures instead of rigid screws. For full-body armor we plan movement range (shoulder, knee, hip) across segment boundaries. On-site fit-check in 1080 Vienna is possible.
  • What's the difference between 3D printing and EVA foam for cosplay?
    EVA foam is soft, light, cheap, forgiving — perfect for large soft armor and beginners. 3D printing is more precise, harder, holds details better (reliefs, engravings, mechanics) and is reproducible. Rule of thumb: hard, detailed parts in 3D print (helmets, weapons, deco panels), soft full-body elements in EVA. We often combine both.
  • How long do I need before my convention?
    Smaller props (buckles, emblems, weapons under 60 cm) 3–5 working days. Helmet with splitting 1 week. Full-body armor 2–4 weeks. Plus buffer for gluing, sanding, filling, painting, drying — realistically 1–2 weeks extra. For Vienna Comic Con or ViennaCon: inquire 4–6 weeks ahead. If time is tight, give us a call — we'll say honestly what's still doable.
  • Can you print models from MakerWorld, Cults3D, Printables or Thingiverse?
    Yes — send us the link or the STL. We check printability (wall thickness, overhangs, scaling) and suggest material and splitting. Usage rights are on you with the model creator — for commercially licensed files (Etsy, Patreon) your purchase receipt is enough for us.
  • We're a cosplay group and want the same armor multiple times — is there a discount?
    Yes. From 3 identical sets the setup costs (model repair, slicing, setup) are shared — the unit price drops noticeably. At 5+ sets we calculate staggered pricing and lock in a fixed delivery date. Ideal for group cosplays and cosplay clubs from Vienna and surroundings.
  • Do you also print for theater, film and music videos confidentially?
    Yes. NDA on request before file handover, no third-party sharing, no gallery or social media posts without release. For productions with a fixed shooting date, we lock in delivery date and price in writing upfront. Details on the B2B page.
