Frequently asked questions

  • What is the difference between a presentation model and a functional sample?
    A presentation model shows form and look — e.g. for pitches or trade shows. A functional sample is mechanically loadable and verifies fit, motion or stress on the real part. We recommend the right material for each goal.
  • Which material is suitable for mechanically loaded prototypes?
    PETG for standard functional parts, ABS for housings you'll post-process, PC for high load and temperatures >110 °C, nylon (PA) for tough continuous load. We advise based on your specific use case.
  • Can I send a sketch or photo instead of a 3D file?
    Yes. Send a sketch, a photo or the original part — we model it in Fusion 360 or Blender and print right after. Flat rates from €40 for smaller parts.
  • How many iterations are realistic in one week?
    For small parts, three to five iterations per week are realistic. We keep file and setup, so every additional print starts faster than the first.
  • When is injection moulding worth it instead of 3D printing?
    Rule of thumb: from several thousand identical parts. Tooling costs of €5,000–20,000 only amortise from then on. For prototyping, pre-series up to 100–200 pieces and custom parts, 3D printing is significantly more economical.
  • Do you also print NDA-protected parts confidentially?
    Yes. Confidentiality is the default. We sign an NDA before file handover on request — no sharing of customer files, no publication in our gallery or social media without explicit approval.
  • Can I inspect the prototype on site before paying?
    Walk-in customers check the part directly at the counter. For shipping, we can send photos beforehand on request. Complaints are handled in person, not through a ticket system.
  • Is there a volume discount if I print several variants at once?
    Yes. Several variants in one job share the setup cost — the per-piece price drops noticeably. From 10 pieces we calculate a tiered price, from 50 pieces it gets cheaper again.
